In this chapter White talks about the development of Art Education, the establishment of different art organizations, museum education, research, and the ideas people had trough the whole 20th century about education. He starts with handwork and craftwork and the introducing of manual training in the schools at the beginning of the 20th century and discusses the whole development from that point on. He discusses the use of advertisement in the 1920s and the use of technology from the 30s and on like film and television.
This chapter is helpful for my research because it gave me insight in the developments in Art Education. It gave me a base of knowledge that I can use trough the rest of my research.
