These pieces are really interesting - how did you come across this artist? I am finding that I'm really interested in repetition and the kinds of ideas it brings out -- for example, in John's blog there is a video piece that uses part of an old television show titled Wonder Woman where things repeat many times in short cutaway segments - it is really amazing what that repetition does...
This is a dutch artist I met when I was working at The photography museum in Amsterdam (foam).
This picture is from his exhibition Paris-New York-Shanghai. For the exhibition in Foam he focused on the street scape of these tree big cities that despite from their different history and culture get more and more similarities.
He works by looking around at the places he visits and looks for similarities in the things people wear. When he finds something he likes he stays in one spot at the street and starts photographing everyone that wears that particular kind of clothing. Before he starts shooting he decides for how long he will be taking pictures.
